All Colson valve components are precision-machined in-house on our own CNC equipment at our purpose-built Rotherham facility. Keeping machining in-house means we control tolerances directly and maintain consistency from one batch to the next, rather than relying on external machine shops working to varying standards. Close-tolerance machining is fundamental to valve performance. Seat geometry in needle valves and sealing surfaces in double block & bleed configurations depend on precision that is difficult to guarantee across a fragmented supply chain – which is why we’ve kept this capability under our own roof since the business began.
Because manufacturing happens alongside design, assembly and testing on the same site, we can move a valve from specification to finished product without waiting on sub-suppliers or renegotiating lead times. That responsiveness is one of the reasons customers come back to us on time-critical projects.
Our manufacturing processes are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and every component is traceable to source material throughout production. For customers specifying valves into safety-critical and regulated environments, that combination of precision machining and documented process control is the baseline requirement, not an extra.
At Colson Valves, we design and manufacture bespoke valve solutions in-house, which means we can move quickly on late specification changes, tight timelines and complex operating conditions – without compromising quality or compliance.
