Capabilities

Colson Valves designs, machines, assembles and tests every valve we produce in-house, at our purpose-built UK facility. That single chain of accountability is central to how we maintain quality, traceability and responsiveness across every project we take on.

In-house design and engineering

Our engineering team works directly with customers to develop valve solutions – whether standard, adapted or fully bespoke – that meet the specific requirements of the application. We use modern design tools alongside decades of application experience in oil & gas, chemical, energy and defence to specify valves that perform reliably in high-pressure, safety-critical environments.

Because design is in-house, we can respond quickly when project requirements change. There is no external design authority to consult and no delay while a specification is re-quoted through a supply chain.

CNC machining

All valve components are precision-machined in-house on our CNC equipment. Close-tolerance machining is fundamental to valve performance – particularly seat geometry in needle valves and sealing surfaces in DBB configurations. Keeping this capability in-house means we control the tolerances and maintain consistency from one batch to the next.

Assembly and testing

Valves are assembled and tested at our UK facility by experienced technicians working under our certified quality management system. Every valve undergoes pressure testing and functional inspection before despatch. Test and inspection records are generated for every product and retained to support audit, third-party witnessing and long-term asset management.

Bespoke valve manufacture

When standard products do not meet the application, our in-house engineering and machining capability allows us to develop bespoke solutions – often at short notice. We have designed and built bespoke valves for unusual dimensions, extreme service conditions, specific material requirements and tight delivery constraints. If your application is outside the standard range, talk to our engineering team.

Quality systems and certification

Our manufacturing processes are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. Full material certification is supplied as standard, with traceability maintained from source material through to the shipped product. Our documentation is built to withstand the most rigorous third-party audit.

If you need technical guidance or want to discuss your requirements, contact our engineering team.

At Colson Valves, we design and manufacture bespoke valve solutions in-house, which means we can move quickly on late specification changes, tight timelines and complex operating conditions – without compromising quality or compliance.
