Repsol is a global energy operator with North Sea assets including the Claymore platform in the Central North Sea. This valve replacement project was managed by Three60 Energy, an asset lifecycle and engineering company that has built its reputation on delivering high-profile, technically demanding scopes quickly – and expects its supply chain to match that standard.
Three60 needed a replacement manufacturer for compact 4″ Class 900lbs Super Duplex Double Block and Bleed valves for the Claymore platform. The design was constrained by limited space on the offshore asset: the valves had to meet an ASME B16.10 face-to-face dimension, and all drain and drain isolation arrangements had to be configured to avoid fouling existing walkways. Material specification was to a specific Repsol Super Duplex standard, with additional testing requirements. Delivery was required within 16 weeks.
Colson worked closely with Three60 from the outset to develop a valve that fitted within the spatial constraints of the installation. The solution used Colson’s DCT compact range to meet the ASME B16.10 face-to-face requirement, with drain and isolation geometry engineered specifically to clear the existing walkway configuration. Materials were supplied to Repsol’s Super Duplex specification, including the additional testing requirements. The order was delivered within the 16-week programme – and ahead of the revised schedule Colson committed to during manufacture.
Three60 received a compliant, fully engineered solution that met every technical and programme requirement. The Lead Piping Engineer at Three60 wrote:
