In the harsh environment of the North Sea, there is no margin for late deliveries or second-rate specification. Apache is a major North Sea oil and gas operator, with assets including the Beryl Field – a multi-reservoir installation that has been in production since the 1970s.
Apache needed to replace existing mono-flanges on a pipeline take-off for the Beryl Field. The replacement valves had to meet Norsok M630 material requirements and be proven suitable for gas service – a specification that leaves no room for shortcuts. The entire order, including paint finish, needed to be completed and delivered within a demanding six-week timeframe.
Colson manufactured a fully compliant valve solution with body and flanges in carbon steel to MDS C11 and trim to MDS D47, meeting Norsok M630 throughout. All valves were hydrostatically and gas tested to extended duration prior to despatch, providing documented assurance of suitability for offshore gas service. The fully finished, painted and tested order was delivered within the six-week deadline.
Apache received a technically sound, fully tested solution within the agreed timeframe, allowing the pipeline take-off work to proceed as planned. Colson was able to meet every requirement – material, testing, and lead time – without exception.
Our reputation is built on consistently doing what we say we will. We give realistic lead times, flag problems early, and deliver what we promise. It sounds straightforward, but in industries where supply chain failures are common, it makes a real difference. That is why our customers come back to us, project after project, year after year.
